The relief from the pain for most patients is long term. For some patients Calmare Pain Therapy may follow up treatments as needed.

Is Calmare Pain Therapy Safe?

Calmare Pain Therapy is a non-invasive completely safe, and pain free treatment. No adverse side effects have been recorded with the Calmare Pain Therapy.

What Is The Treatment Protocol?

The treatment requires patients to come in for 10-12 consecutive treatments once a day for 10-12 days. Additional booster treatments may be required depending on the patient.

How Many Treatments Are Required?

10-12 sessions, that are 30-45 minutes in length are required to get the best results from Calmare Pain Therapy. Most of our patients experience a decrease in their pain after the initial treatment. While every condition and our patients body’s pain is unique, most of our patients that complete the 10 -12 Calmare Pain Therapy sessions  identify a dramatic reduction in pain almost immediately.

What Can I Expect During Treatment?

In order to participate in Calmare Pain Treatments an initial evaluation given by Doctor Erick Bingham. Every patient is provided with a comfortable room where a relaxing chair and couch are provided for patient and guest. When the patient arrives for the scheduled visit then the non invasive application of Calmare Pain Therapy begins. Single-use surface electrodes (similar to an EKG) are applied to the skin area that correspond to the pain areas. Calmare Pain Therapy is designed treat up to five pain areas at the same time  in the same person.

How long can I expect to be “Pain Free” after my initial 10-12 sessions?

While all results are not typical and every situation is different the longest time a patient has been “pain free” has been one year (however the norm that we see is usually 2-3 months until a booster treatment may be needed to maintain “pain free”status).

Is Calmare Pain Therapy Like a TENS Unit?

No. the TENS units block pain signals using high energy electrical impulses to distract the brain, but when discontinued there is no lasting pain relief.

The Calmare MC-5A device is different and more effective because it creates a low energy electric impulse that travels with the patient’s nerves providing a “no-pain” signal to the mind. Over a series of treatments, the mind ends up being “persuaded” that the location of pain is normal and healthy and lasting relief from pain may continue.

What is unique about this treatment and treating oncologic neuropathies?

“It is critical to the success of the treatment for the clinician to place the electrodes at the proper nerve zones to produce the best analgesia. The duration of the analgesic affect will depend upon how many zones were successfully engaged during the treatments. The type of cancer or the advanced stage of cancer does not allow long pauses of “no pain” periods. Similar to drug protocols, the patient is treated whenever the patient has pain present. The key to successful treatment is the proper training of the clinician.”
